THE AUTHOR

Hi, I’m Melina,

I grew up as an expat, living in Oman, U.A.E and Australia, all before the age of sixteen. Before apps or mobile phones, my sisters and I spent most of our time feeding our imaginations through books, play and exploration. It was a wonderful childhood.

I have always been a day dreamer. And still am to this day.

I had the idea for my first children’s book - 'Tickles', in 2010. But, back then, I was too busy being an interior designer. It wasn’t until I gave up my corporate career in interior design in 2019 that I began dreaming of becoming a children's book author.

I believe that dreams can come true if we have a dream team. I was lucky enough to have amazing nieces and nephews to inspire and help me finish writing and illustrating my first children’s book!

Now, I am rewriting my life story and this is just the beginning of my tale and dream team tales.

THE EDITOR

Hi, I'm Megan (Melina's mum). I never in my wildest dreams thought I would have five daughters! Before I became a full-time mum I was a primary school teacher. Now that my daughters have grown up, I love spending time in my garden and playing with my grandchildren when they come to visit. In my next life, my dream is to be a chef.

THE ILLUSTRATORS

Hi, I'm Alana (Melina's niece). I'm now 10 years old and I love drawing and playing football. My dream is to be a world leader when I grow up! I was so excited to see my drawings printed in a picture book and I love reading "Tickles" to my younger brother Ari.

Hi, I'm Edisson (Melina's nephew). I'm 7 years old now and I dream of being an artist when I grow up. I live in Paris with my mum, dad and little brother, Anatole. I love drawing, playing with my toy cars and being tickled!
